Katharine Boyes, piano, a native of England, has performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout Great Britain and the U.S.A. in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Barbican Center, London; Temple Square Concert Series, Salt Lake City; and Davis Symphony Hall, San Francisco. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and also degrees from the Royal Academy of Music, London and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Katharine has a special interest in piano music by women composers and in 2001 she released Piano Portraits of the Seasons by Women Composers, a CD of repertoire which portrays the seasons. She has also been featured on BBC Radio and American Public Radio.
Katharine is active in furthering the education of young musicians and frequently serves as adjudicator, clinician, masterclass specialist, and workshop coordinator. She is also director of the vocal ensemble Voices Together Singers, which advocates for people with developmental disabilities.
Currently, Katharine is Organizational Development Coordinator for the Music Department at NC State. Her previous faculty positions include UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, North Carolina School of the Arts, St. Augustine’s College, and Salem College.

Applauded by critics and audiences for his unique blend of powerful virtuosity, beautiful tone, and natural musicianship, Elliot Frank has appeared as solo recitalist, chamber player, and as concerto soloist throughout the Americas and Europe. He is a frequent guest performer and teacher at guitar festivals throughout the Americas..

Elliot Frank’s first compact disc, South American Guitar Music, was recently released by ACA Digital Recordings. It has been praised as “eloquent” and “delightful.” He has also appeared in solo recitals for the Florida East Coast Guitar Society, the Memphis Classical Guitar Society, the Dallas Guitar Society, the Piedmont Guitar Society, the Richmond Classic Guitar Society, the Triangle Guitar Society, and Guitar Houston. 

Elliot Frank’s international performances include appearances in Colombia, Venezuela, and Vienna, Austria. He has also performed for the Tampa Classical Guitar Festival, the North Carolina Bach Festival, Columbus State University Guitar Symposium, and the East Carolina University Summer Guitar Festival, where he also serves as Artistic Director. ACA Digital Recordings recently released his first compact disc, South American Guitar Music, which has been praised as being “eloquent” and “delightful.”

Elmer Gibson was born in Philadelphia, and since the mid ‘60s, has been writing, arranging, and performing music with some of jazz’s finest musicians throughout the U.S. and in eight countries around the world. In addition to headlining six of his own CDs, he has recorded with a number of nationally known jazz artists, including Norman Connors and Nnenna Freelon.
In 1974 Gibson moved to North Carolina and in 1976 co-founded (and was the president of) the non-profit organization Preservation Jazz Company, Inc. The twelve years he headed that organization, funded by the National Endowment of the Arts, and the North Carolina State Arts Council, he has given jazz workshops and lecture demonstrations at colleges, universities, and recreation centers throughout the state.
Gibson has appeared with the North Carolina Symphony accompanying Steve Allen, the veteran comedian/musician/songwriter, and jazz legend/movie star Cab Calloway.
For the past ten years Gibson has been an associate producer for Johnsound Studios, and Blazing Music and Sound, an affiliate of Trailblazer Studios in Raleigh, NC. He has written, arranged, and performed music for TV shows, commercials, documentaries, and slide shows.
